A VICIOUS CYCLE

"What stood out the most in the research phase, was the daily disruption women faced due to PMDD and the lack of concern there is around the disorder."

This series was born after a collaboration with the pmdd project to raise awareness of Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a very severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It causes a range of emotional and physical symptoms every month.

The artist interviewed women with PMDD and from this research, Charmagne created a visual understanding of how hormonal imbalances can affect daily life.
